Blog #17 I’ve got a tattoo appointment and no idea what to get…
Hey, hope you all have been doing well. I’m loving life at the moment, I just finished up my second internship and can see the end of the tunnel regarding University. I’ve been keeping busy picking up some landscaping work on the side with my roommate which I’m really enjoying; I’ll have to write about it one week.
This week though I want to write about a notification I got a few days ago. At work, I felt my phone buzz and when I looked at the screen I was alerted and delighted. Google Calendar was telling me that I had a month until my next tattoo appointment. How exciting, I love my tattoo days, I lay there and just yap while getting some awesome ink.
The only problem is I’m not sure what I’m getting yet. I have had this problem before actually, my most recent tattoo, the charging bull was already booked before I had any idea what I wanted. To some people this may come off as crazy, being booked in for permanent ink and not having any idea what yet to get. To me, it’s not a major deal.
When I got my first tattoo, I explained to my artist Sophie that I wanted to get a patchwork look going on. Because of this, each time I go in she asks if I would like to take the next available booking. Thankfully I go to a very talented and popular artist so I get plenty of time to think of what I want.
When I last got tatted I was asked if I wanted to book in for the 26th of October I was keen, it seemed like a lifetime away. This notification has excited me but somewhat lit a fire beneath me too, I have to figure out what I am getting.
I know I want it to be on the same right arm, I think this last one will really fill out my forearm and I most likely will look at other places on my body after this next tattoo.
I have been looking at Pinterest, Instagram & of course annoying people I know for ideas. Now that Uni is really slowing down I am going to have to really start making my mind up. I’m torn between something simply cool looking or something related to something I love like music. These are of course not mutually exclusive things, but my previous tattoos whilst holding some meaning have largely been for aesthetics.
Right now I’m considering something that either references bands I love like Oasis or The Beatles. I have also considered something cool like an Ottoman Sabre up the side of the forarm but do not want to get something that is too overdone.
